LA GOMERA

La Gomera is one of the smallest of Spain's Canary Islands. It is known for its lush landscapes and unique geological features such as the black sand beaches, deep ravines, and rugged coastlines. The island is recognised for it's unique 'whistle language', Silbo Gomero, used by locals to communicate across steep terrain.

Thanks to preservation efforts on La Gomera, Garajonay remains one of the best-preserved subtropical rainforests in Europe. Home to around 400 species of flora and fauna, many endemic to the island, the park sits at the heart of La Gomera’s 600km network of walking trails.
With paths weaving across the island, you can DIY your walk with short circular trails, half-day hikes and full-day treks over mountains and along the coast.

This island holds many surprises with its incredible wildlife, captivating culture, and breathtaking scenery, leaving visitors in awe by it's diverse environmental wonders and stunning ocean views.

Elles Bailey is an award-winning, critically acclaimed artist who seamlessly straddles the worlds of Americana, Rock & Blues.

Some of those awards include: UK song of the Year 2020 at the Americana Awards UK. Album of the Year 2020 and 2023 at the UK Blues Awards. Artist and Live Act of the Year 2023 at the Americana Awards UK. Vocalist of the Year 2023 at the UK Blues Awards and Artist of the Year 2020, 2021 and 2023 at the UK Blues Awards – a “threepeat” victory that saw her excluded from any further wins but inducted her into the UK Blues Hall of Fame.

After shaking off the long-tail of Covid restrictions and finally being able to properly tour her third album in 2023, last summer she immediately set to work writing the songs for what would become her fourth album.

Some 40 compositions, a Nashville writing trip and a typically no-messing recording session in Devon later, Bailey – backed in the studio by her red-hot live band – had nailed her glorious fourth album, Beneath the Neon Glow.

The album releases on the 9th August, 2024.

Elles says: “I very much feel like this album was about exploring all the different parts that make me, me. I've done a lot of journeying into who I am. We're not ever just one thing, we're constantly changing and learning, growing, becoming parents,” says a musician who had her first child around the time of her last album. “All of that has channelled into my songwriting."

Saskia Griffiths-Moore

Saskia Griffiths-Moore stands as a luminary folk songstress in the vibrant tapestry of London's scene, gracing folk clubs, theaters, and festivals across the globe with her captivating performances. Over nearly a decade-long tenure she's garnered widespread acclaim for her soul-stirring melodies and captivating acoustic performances.

Her journey has seen multiple recordings at renowned venues such as Abbey Road Studios, where she crafted her celebrated album "Baez, Dylan and Me," marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic Woodstock festival. Earning features on prominent platforms like Sky TV, London Live, and BBC Radio Scotland and Wales and praised by industry publications like Maverick and RnR magazine, Saskia's profound musical compositions have left a lasting impact on audiences.

Transitioning from a successful career as a craniosacral therapist on Harley Street, Saskia embarked on her musical odyssey, touring extensively across the UK and Europe. Notably, she signed a transatlantic record deal with the Susanne Marcus Collins Foundation Inc. in the US, releasing her album "Are You Listening" in July 2020. The entire tour was dedicated to charitable causes, with exclusive performances held in care homes.

In recent years, Saskia has remained committed to using her platform for good, supporting charitable causes and championing the age-positive movement through initiatives like "Talent Is Timeless." Notable highlights include embarking on a 21-date UK tour titled "Where Are We Heading" in October 2021, showcasing the talent of songwriters aged 50 and above.

ACTIVITIES

The choices of activities on offer at La Gomera are plentiful and you can join in as much or as little as you wish. These include the full Talent is Timeless programme, dolphin and whale watching, bird-watching, tennis, Golf & Yoga, visits to the “Eco Finca” Tecina, a 100% ecological farm, star gazing and guided walks in Garajonay National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), with its unique ecosystem.

The Talent Is Timeless retreat begins 4 February and ends 11 February. Opt for a 14-night stay from 28 January to 11 February and included in the cost of your holiday, is not only the Talent is Timeless retreat, but two evening concerts featuring Oysters 3 and Miranda Sykes, along with a plethora of other activities including watercolour painting classes, ukulele workshops, open mic sessions and optional island walks.

There's also the option to stay for three weeks from 21 January when you can avail of the whole programme including concerts from Chris While and Julie Matthews.

Ease the arrival and departure days and trying to book flights that coincide with the ferry timetable for transfers over to the island and back. Add on the optional package of pre/post overnight at the H10 Costa Adeje Hotel, Tenerife, from £160pp per night bed & breakfast.

The holiday does not include flights, this gives you the flexibility to choose flights that suit your own personal preferences.

Return transfers from Reina Sofia (Tenerife South) airport to Hotel Jardin Tecina on 28 January, 4 and 11 February 2025 are included.

On arrival at Tenerife South airport, a transfer will be provided to the port at Los Cristianos for the 50-minute ferry crossing to La Gomera.

On arrival in La Gomera a transfer will be provided to the Hotel, approx 50mins.

FAQ

Is my booking financially protected?
Yes, your booking protected under our ABTA bond No: P7419 which means should Harmony Voyages fail prior to your holiday you will be fully reimbursed or during your holiday, you will be flown home as per your original booking.

What if I'm not a Talent Is Timeless member?

If you are not already a member of Talent is Timeless, a guest membership will be created for you to attend the songwriting retreat, and your contact details will be securely shared with Saskia Griffiths-Moore.

Are flights included?
No, flights are not included to allow you the flexibility to travel from your airport of choice to and from Tenerife South. Transfers are included to/from La Gomera on 28 January, 4 and 11 February. If you would like a quote for a fully inclusive package, including flights from the UK please contact the office and we will be happy to assist.

Can I book airport hotels & parking with you?
Yes, we are happy to assist with booking airport Hotels, plus parking if required prior to your flight departure or you can book directly via our referral link here.

Which airport do I need to fly into / home from?
You will fly into Tenerife South (TFS)

Are transfers included?
Transfers to La Gomera are included on 28 January and 4 February from Tenerife South airport. Or from Los Cristianos Ferry Terminal, should you opt to arrive into Tenerife earlier. Return transfers included on 4 and 11 February. Transfers on alternative days may incur an additional charge.
Where courtesy transfers are provided as part of a package cost, we are unable to offer any form of reimbursement should you decide to make your own transfer arrangements. Transfers from airport to accommodation will operate when all passengers have joined the vehicle and the maximum wait time should not exceed 30 minutes.
Where you have booked a private transfer through Harmony Voyages, you will have been charged separately for this, and a voucher will be issued.

How long is the transfer?
Transfer to the hotel takes about two hours, including the 50 min ferry crossing*.

Kettles are not provided in every room type. You are welcome to bring your own travel kettle or you can hire a 'kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, milk tray' from the hotel reception for a small daily charge.
